Antimycin A3 是从多种链霉菌中分离出来的抗生素，具有抗真菌活性。Antimycin A3 是有效的呼吸 (respiration) 抑制剂。Antimycin A3 抑制泛醇-细胞色素 c 氧化还原酶 (ubiquinol-cytochrome c oxidoreductase) 的电子转移活性，并阻止人类癌细胞的生长。Antimycin A3 也抑制 ATP 柠檬酸裂解酶，Ki 值为 60.1 µM。

生物活性

Antimycin A3, an antibiotic isolated from a number of Streptomyces species, shows antifungal activities. Antimycin A3 is a potent inhibitor of respiration. Antimycin A3 inhibits the electron transfer activity of ubiquinol-cytochrome c oxidoreductase. Antimycin A3 inhibits ATP-citrate lyase with a Ki value of 60.1 µM[1][2][3].

Antimycin A3 induces apoptosis of cancer cells by selectively killing cancer cells that expressed high levels of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL[1].
