Desthiobiotin PEG4 amine

Description:

Desthiobiotin PEG amine is one of Nanocs desthiobiotin derivatives having a reactive primary amine group. Desthiobiotin has similar binding properties to avidin or strepatvidin as Biotin but it is elutable from streptavidin, making it ideal for protein purification and intracellular labeling. The desthiobiotin tag binds to streptavidin and other biotin-binding proteins with high specificity yet readily elutes with mild conditions (i.e., by competitive displacement with regular, free biotin). As such, this reagent is a useful alternative to Biotin for avidin-biotin techniques in which nondenaturing elution of the labeled proteins is desired. Pegylated desthiobiotin has a hydrophilic polyethyleneglycol spacer arm that imparts water solubility to entire molecules. Free primary amine group on the other end of PEG allows other amine reactive groups to be easily attached.
