Naphthomycin B is a naphthalenic ansamycin antibiotic isolated from|Streptomyces|, reported to act against gram-positive bacteria and fungi. Napthomycins are ansa macrocyclic antimetabolites that have been described in studies to show high cytotoxic activity against various leukemic cells. Additionally, studies have proved that naphthomycin inhibits DNA and RNA synthesis in L5178Y cells.
