抗生素噻唑化合物西霉素A 已显示出下调转录因子叉头盒M1（FoxM1）的mRNA和蛋白质丰度以及转录活性。因此，证明了FoxM1的下游靶基因，如CENP-B，Survivin和Cdc25B被抑制。还报道了该化合物在不同来源的癌细胞系中诱导有效的p53非依赖性细胞凋亡。西霉素A 是FOXM1的抑制剂。
Siomycin A, an antibiotic thiazole compound, has been shown to down-regulate the mRNA and protein abundance as well as transcriptional activity of transcription factor forkhead box M1 (FoxM1). Consequentially, it was demonstrated that the downstream target genes of FoxM1, such as CENP-B, Survivin, and Cdc25B were repressed. This compound was also reported to induce potent p53-independent apoptosis in cancer cell lines of different origin. Siomycin A is an inhibitor of FOXM1.
