Biotin functionalized polyethylene glycol (PEG-Biotin) is an avidin or streptavidin binding PEG derivative that is used to biotinylate biomolecules or other material surfaces. Biotin can be easily detected by biotin/streptavidin binding assay and is widely used for molecule target detection. Meanwhile fluorescein gives strong green fluorescence and can be easily detected.
