磷酸四环素复合物是由金黄色链霉菌产生的广谱抗生素,可用于一系列生物测定。抗生素通过与微生物核糖体的30S核糖体亚基结合而起作用,通过阻断带电的氨酰基-tRNA的附着来抑制蛋白质合成。另外,研究表明,去除抗生素后,四环磷酸酯复合物的作用是可逆的。但是,一旦磷酸四环素复合物进入细胞环境,它就不会轻易离开。此外,耐药细胞不允许抗生素进入细胞,或者它们能够在浓度达到毒性水平之前将抗生素从细胞中排出。或者,由于四环素可以被骨组织吸收并使用荧光标记,因此四环素磷酸酯复合物可作为骨生长和估计骨重吸收率的标志物。
Tetracycline phosphate complex is a broad spectrum antibiotic produced by|Streptomyces aureofaciens|that is useful in an array of bioassays. The antibiotic functions by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit of microbial ribosomes inhibiting protein synthesis via blocking the attachment of charged aminoacyl-tRNA. In addition, studies suggest that the effects of Tetracycline phosphate complex are reversible upon removal of the antibiotic. However once Tetracycline phosphate complex has entered the cellular environment it does not readily leave. Furthermore, resistant cells either do not allow the antibiotic entry into the cell or they are able to eject the antibiotic out of the cell before the concentration reaches toxic levels. Alternatively, Tetracycline phosphate complex functions as a marker for bone growth and estimating bone reabsorption rates, since Tetracycline can be absorbed by bone tissue and tagged using fluorescence.
