Desthiobiotin PEG FITC:

Fluorescein PEG Desthiobiotin, also called Desthiobiotin PEG FITC, is a fluorescent Desthiobiotin PEG derivative offered by Nanocs. Desthiobiotin PEG FITC gives strong green fluorescence light upon excited at 495 nm. The maximum emission wavelength of product is around 515 nm. FITC labeled desthiobiotin PEG can be used to trace and detect binding of desthiobiotin to avidin, streptavidin or neutravidin with high sentivity. PEG linker between FITC and Desthiobiotin offers good water solubility, less steric hindrance and enhanced stability.

Physical Properties:

  • Yellow/orange solid;
  • Soluble in regular aqeous solution as well as most organic solvents;
  • Excitation/Emission wavelength: 495/515 nm;

Desthiobiotin PEG Aminooxy:

Aminooxy PEG Desthiobiotin is one of carbonyl reactive Desthiobiotin PEG derivatives from Nanocs that can be used to attach desthiobiotin tag to polysaccharides or glycoproteins with aldehyde or ketone groups. Reaction between aminooxy and carbonyl group forms a stable oxime bond that is more stable than schiff base formed between amino and carbonyl group. Aminooxy and carbonyl reaction allows covalent conjugation of desthiobiotin to periodate oxidized polysaccharides or glycoproteins. Resulted desthiobiotin tag can bind to avdin, neutravidin or streptavidin with high specificity but it can be eluted from avidin/streptavidin complex under milder conditions.

  • Soluble in aqueous solution, DMSO or DMF;
  • Reactive group: Aminooxy (-ONH2);

Desthiobiotin PEG DSPE:

DSPE PEG Desthiobiotin is one of Nanocs’ phospholipid PEG derivatives with a desthiobiotin tag. DSPE is an amphiphilic 18 carbon phospholipid existing in cell membranes and artificial liposomes. Desthiobiotin is a modified version of biotin. Compared to biotin, desthiobiotin binds to streptavidin, avidin or neutraviain with lower affinity and thus it can be eluted under milder conditions (i.e., by competitive displacement with regular, free biotin). As such, desthiobiotin reagent is a useful alternative to Biotin for avidin-biotin techniques in which nondenaturing elution of the labeled proteins is desired. DSPE modified PEG desthiobiotin has excellent amphiphilic property that can be incorporated into cell membranes, liposomes and other synthetic lipophilic nanoparticles. Resulted desthiobiotin can target avidin, streptavidin or neutravidin. PEG linker between DSPE and desthiobiotin tag offers better water solubility, less steric hindrance and enhanced stability.
