An antidiuretic peptide hormone that is released from the hypothalamus during periods of stress and implicated in a variety of physiological processes including diuresis, vasoregulation, thermoregulation and memory. AVP’s primary functions include regulating water balance in animals (antidiuretic action) and arteriole contracting (vasopressor action), as it also affects the immune system.

Thymalfasin is an immunomodulating agent able to enhance the Thl immune response.
体外研究 (In Vitro)
Thymalfasin has been shown to have efficacy in multiple experimental models of immune dysfunction, mainly, infectious diseases such as hepatitis (woodchuck) and influenza (mouse), and cancer such as melanoma (mouse) and colorectal carcinoma (rat) where thymalfasin has shown antitumor effects[2].
