Ortho-pyridyl disulfide (OPSS) and fluorescein functionalized polyethylene glycol (OPSS PEG FITC) is a thiol (-SH) group reactive and fluorescent PEG derivative that can be used to modify biomolecules or other materials via their available thiol groups. Ortho-pyridyl disulfide reacts with thiol group to form a stable disulfide bond while a thiol pyridyl group is released. Meanwhile, fluorescein gives strong green fluorescent signal that can be easily detected.

Fluorescein labeled Protein A is one of the Nanocs’ premier fluorescent Protein A conjugates. Protein A is a 42 kDa surface protein originally found in the cell wall of Stapylococcus aureus. Protein A has strong binding affinity towards immunoglobulins and it has been used for antibody identification, purification and many other biochemical research uses. Fluorescein protein A is a green fluorescent protein A conjugate that has excitation/emission wavelength at 495 nm/515 nm. All our protein A conjugates were purified by size exclusion chromatography to remove non-conjugated molecules and ensure adequate applications both in-vitro and in-vivo.

  • 2~7 fluorescein dyes on each protein A molecule.
  • Protein A and it conjugates provided either in water solution or dried powder;

FITC group can be easily traced from its yellow color and green fluorescence. Additional functionality allows these fluorescent PEG derivatives to be easily conjugated to other molecule or material surfaces.
